The Food Safety Supervisor ensures alignment with quality and food safety objectives through regular assessments and supervision of quality & food safety activities and results as it relates to Colectivo Coffee’s Mission and Core Values.

SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Coordinates activities with the management team to maintain organizational consistency
  • Coordinates and maintains the food safety program to assure compliance to food safety regulations, certifications, and customer requirements
  • Oversees and directs work of sanitation employees across all three shifts● Maintains and trains staff on sanitation chemical program
  • Provides information and guidance to management regarding non-conformances (raw materials, work in progress, and finished products) customer complaints and production-related problems. Prepares reports for management review
  • Maintains, updates, and presents training for all co-workers: Good Manufacturing Practices, Food Safety,HACCP, Allergen Control Plans, Food Defense
  • Leads the development and implementation of quality and food safety systems and practices and requirements, in conjunction with management of other functional areas in the Company. Maintains FoodSafety program and certifications
  • Maintains, updates, and implements the Food Safety program per regulations. Maintains documentation program customer and regulatory audits. Completes annual product traceability
  • Maintains, reviews, and approves product specifications and test procedures for customer, raw material, work in process, and final product approval
  • Completes customer requests for verification of product specifications and general information regardingGMP, Food Safety, HAACP, Allergens, Process Control, etc.
  • Assures alignment with management. Provides excellent level of customer service to both internal and external customers
  • Works in accordance with all federal, state, and local safe production facility requirements.
EDUCATION/QUALIFICATIONS
  • Bachelor’s degree (B.A.) in Engineering, Food Science, Microbiology, or Business Administration
  • 2-4 years of experience in supervising or managing Food Safety in a Food Manufacturing environment
  • Previous auditing and training experience a plus
  • Proficient skill level in Microsoft Office/Google Suite
  • Leadership ability
  • Availability and flexibility for schedule that includes evenings, weekends and holidays
  • Ability to stand for extended periods of time, reach, bend and lift a minimum of 50lbs
  • Ability to see, read and write in English
  • Experience and/or interest in Process Control and HACCP technologies
  • Great communication skills and ability to easily work across various disciplines
