The Human Resources Manager is accountable for all activities of the HR Department in Chicago and will perform all functions with the highest level of consistency, compassion, and confidentiality as it relates to Colectivo Coffee’s Mission, Values and overall customer experience.

Specific Responsibilities

• Document and follow up on co-worker issues as well as harassment and discrimination claims

• Recruit, schedule, hire, and retain talented staff to ensure our customers experience the highest standards of coffee and food products

• Conduct new hire paperwork, onboarding, and follow ups for all new co-workers

• Provides ongoing coaching and leadership training to all co-workers, shift leaders, and mangers

• Communicate, track, and document co-worker required certifications

• Interpret and enforce company policies and local labor laws

• Records and analyzes turnover information including conducting exit interviews for all departing co-workers in Chicago market

• Facilitate manager and co-worker annual review process

• Schedules, communicates and responsible for new hire orientation as needed

• Facilitate benefits administration through co-worker education and open enrollment meetings

• Record workers compensation claims

• Additional support as needed across Milwaukee and Madison markets to support greater HR team.

Education/Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience

• Minimum of 5 years working with multiple aspects of HR

• Must be proficient or have ability to learn MS Office, HRIS systems and databases

• Strong interpersonal and communication skills

Desired Qualifications

PHR/SPHR preferred

Knowledge of Federal, State, Labor and Employment laws, Workers’ compensation, FMLA, ADA and OSHA laws
