The primary responsibility of the Roaster is to roast green coffee to the standard set by Colectivo in a safe and efficient manner as it relates to Colectivo’s Mission and Vision.

  • Roast green coffee according to Colectivo’s specification in a consistent, efficient and safe manner
  • Responsible for cupping and tasting different varieties of coffee to help build sensory knowledge
  • Monitor daily inventory and adjust roasted coffee production accordingly
  • Organize and maintain green coffee and roasted coffee storage areas
  • Clean and maintain roasters/roasting areas to ensure personal and co-worker safety and product integrity
  • Continuing coffee knowledge and education by attending industry events, classes and reviewing industry publications
  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Interest and passion for quality coffee is a must
  • Ability to stay focused and attentive to repetitive tasks is essential
  • Ability to train, use and operate a forklift
  • Ability to lift at least 100lbs throughout the day
  • Ability to work on your feet in a fast-paced, labor-intensive environment
